Chicago Golf Product D.A. Points in Contention This Weekend on PGA Tour
Three-time Illinois State Amateur Champion D.A. Points is alone in second place heading into the final round of The Greenbrier Classic tomorrow on the PGA Tour. Points will be paired with Jeff Overton, who currently owns a three shot lead over the former University of Illinois product.

Born: December 1, 1976
Hometown: Pekin, Illinois
College: University of Illinois
D.A. Points won the Illinois State Amateur three times; he lost to Tiger Woods in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Amateur in 1996. He turned professional in 1999.
Points played on the Nationwide Tour from 2001 to 2004, winning three events. He earned his PGA Tour card by finishing second on the Nationwide Tour money list in 2004, playing on the big tour in 2005 and 2006. Points returned to the Nationwide Tour for 2007 and 2008. In 2008, at the Miccosukee Championship, he holed his second shot from the fairway on the last hole on Sunday with a wedge and ended up winning in a playoff over Matt Bettencourt for his fourth career win. He finished 16th on the money list to earn his 2009 PGA Tour card.
In 2009 Points finished third in the HP Byron Nelson Championship and comfortably kept his tour card, finishing 66th on the money list.
