2014 Encompass Championship Presented By Career Builder

The 2014 Encompass Championship brings a unique Pro-Am format to North Shore Country Club and the greater Chicago area. The tournament will feature a special Pro-Am format during the first two rounds of competition on Friday and Saturday pairing all 81 Champions Tour professionals with celebrities and amateurs. Sunday’s final round will see Champions Tour professionals competing for the individual title and the $1.8 million dollar purse. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit local charities.

Some of the most recognized names in golf, including World Golf Hall of Fame members Ben Crenshaw, Hale Irwin, Tom Kite, Bernhard Langer, Nick Price, are expected to return to the Encompass Championship in 2014. Major champions and fan favorites such as Jeff Sluman, Chip Beck, Fred Couples, John Cook, Fred Funk, Jay Haas, Tom Lehman, Corey Pavin, Kenny Perry, Rocco Mediate and Steve Elkington are also expected to return.

The 2013 Encompass Championship presented by Career Builder delivered high drama and entertainment with Craig Stadler holding off late runs by Fred Couples and Jeff Sluman to win the tournament. This was Stadler’s ninth career title on the Champions Tour, and ended a victory drought of 8 years, 8 months and 28 days, breaking the Champions Tour’s all-time mark for longest time between victories. It was Stadler’s 171st start since his last victory at the 2004 SAS Championship.
