Lake Forest High School Wins IHSA State Title

Lake Forest High School outlasted New Trier this past weekend to win the team title at the IHSA Boys’ Golf State Tournament, which was held at The Den at Fox Creek Golf Course in downstate Bloomington.

The Scouts fired a four-man, 18-hole team score of 311 on Saturday. That combined with Friday’s 306 gave the winners a four-shot edge over New Trier and a two-day total score of 617.

Charlie Marshall was Saturday’s hero for the Scouts, shooting an even-par 72 after an 83 on Friday. Also scoring Saturday for Lake Forest were Joe Willis (77), Perry Johnson (80) and Nick Steffan (82).
