Built in 1970, Hilldale Golf Club is located in the northwest suburbs and is known for its challenging layout and highly respected greens. The course is located on a terrific piece of land in Hoffman Estates which was once used by Marshall Field as a hunt club.<\/p>\n
Hilldale Golf Club is the only 18-hole course in Northern Illinois designed by world famous golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and is located just twenty minutes west of O\u2019Hare Airport. The course hosted five Western Open qualifiers during its run, which ended in 2006. In 2007, the Western Open was renamed \u2013 and changed in terms of invitational criteria \u2013 by the BMW Championship, part of the FedEx Cup Playoff Series.<\/p>\n
Architect Jones, who also designed Pebble Beach Golf Links, was successful in his intent for Hilldale to provide a challenging test of golf. The 18-hole layout features 13 holes in which water comes into play and offers many elevation changes.
