Tee It Up for the Troops was established to honor that selfless request. \nSince inception\, more than 657 Tee It Up for the Troops fundraising events have been hosted in over 40 states across the USA. These events have allowed us to donate over $14\,000\,000 to more than 425 veteran service organizations that support active-duty service members\, veterans and their families from all branches and all conflicts. SUMMARY:Western Amateur Golf Championship
DESCRIPTION:The Western Amateur Golf Championship will be contested July 31 – August 5\, 2023 at North Shore Country Club in Glenview. The first Western Amateur was held at Glen View Club in 1899 with David Forgan of Chicago reigning as champion. \nUnlike the U.S. Open golf championship and the open national championships of other countries\, the Western Amateur Championship is an invitational event where contestants are invited based upon their achievements in amateur golf. Over the years\, the Western Amateur has earned the nickname of “The Masters of amateur golf.” \n156 players come from around the world are invited to play one of the toughest formats in amateur golf. The field will play 18 holes of individual stroke play on Tuesday and Wednesday after which the field will be cut to the low 44 scores and ties. Those remaining will play 36 holes of individual stroke play on Thursday to determine the low 16 finishers. The “Sweet Sixteen” will compete at Match Play on Friday and Saturday to decide the champion.

DESCRIPTION:The 2023 Western Junior Championship will take place June 19-22 at Midlothian Country Club. The Western Junior Championship is the oldest national junior golf championship\, has been played in more than 15 states and at several prestigious Chicagoland golf clubs. \nThe Western Junior Championship was played at Naperville Country Club in 2022\, 2021 at Onwentsia Club and Piersen Hunt won in 2019 at Rich Harvest Farms. \nThe field is limited to 156 entrants. Competition begins with 36 holes of stroke play\, after which the field is cut to the low 44 and ties. Those who make the cut will play 36 more holes of stroke play in hopes of winning the Western Junior title. \nThe top three finishers and ties receive exemptions into the Western Amateur. Past winners include Hunter Mahan\, Rickie Fowler and Collin Morikawa.

DESCRIPTION:The 2022 Illinois Open Championship will be played August 1-3 at White Eagle Golf Club in Naperville\, Illinois. The state championship of golf is a 54-hole championship over three days to determine the finest player in the state of Illinois. \nThe Illinois Open has a 264-player field. Any legal resident (professional or amateur) of the State of Illinois is eligible to qualify for the Illinois Open. Amateurs must carry a verified handicap index of 10.0 or less. \nThe first Illinois Open was won by Abe Espinoza in 1931 at Hickory Hills Country Club.  \nTee-K Kelly from Wheaton won the 2021 Illinois Open Championship at Stonebridge Country Club. Kelly\, who led at the end of all three rounds\, posted a final round 4-under-par 68 for a tournament total 17-under-par 199. Kelly tied the Illinois Open 54-hole score to par (Carlos Sainz\, Jr. 2016)\, and recorded the second-lowest Illinois Open 54-hole score (David Cooke\, 2015).   \nWhite Eagle Golf Club is a 27 hole private golf facility that was originally designed by Arnold Palmer Design Group and features three nine-hole courses. Holes 1 through 9 are referred to as the Red Course and holes 10 through 18 are the White Course. Holes 19 through 27 were developed at a later date and are referred to as the Blue Course.

DESCRIPTION:The 27th Phil Kosin Illinois Women’s Open will take place Monday\, July 25th and Tuesday\, July 26th 2022 at Mistwood Golf Club in Romeoville.  \nThe Illinois Women’s Open was the vision of the late Phil Kosin\, who believed that Illinois needed a women’s state championship. Kosin’s passion for golf radiated throughout the pages of his Chicagoland Golf newspaper\, on his blog\, and over radio waves as host of a radio show on 670 The Score. Kosin was passionate about the game and dedicated himself towards the tournament for 15 years. \n36 hole Championship held on Monday\, July 25 and Tuesday\, July 26. There will be no cut in between rounds and players will be repaired after the completion of round 1. \nEntries are open to all female professionals\, and all female amateurs with a current USGA Handicap Index of 15.0 or less. Contestants must be 17 years of age. \nThe inaugural trophy was won by Diane Daugherty\, Carbondale. Burr Ridge amateur Kerry Postillion won back-to-back championships in 1996\, 1997\, and a third in 1999. Nicole Jeray won in 1998 and 2003\, amateur Emily Gilley\, Flossmoor won in 2000 and 2001\, with Naperville pro Maria Long winning in 2002.

DESCRIPTION:The Illinois State Amateur Championship will take place July 19-21\, 2022 at Westmoreland Country Club in Wilmette\, Illinois. Many prominent professionals and amateurs have played at Westmoreland Country Club including Bobby Jones\, Chick Evans\, Frances Ouiment\, Walter Hagan and Jock Hutchison. \nThe 2021 event was won in a four hole playoff by Ethan Farnam of Crystal Lake. This was the second consecutive victory for Farnam in the Illinois State Amateur Championship. \nThe Illinois State Amateur Championship is conducted by the Chicago District Golf Association and is the most prestigious amateur golf tournament in the state of Illinois. The event was first played in 1931 at Quincy Country Club and was initially conducted as match play until 1963. the event is now a 72-hole stroke play competition contested over three days. \nSince the Championship was first conducted at stroke play\, 46 different golfers have hoisted the Louis L. Emmerson trophy\, several of which are current or former members of the PGA Tour. Crystal Lake native and Saint Mary’s College golfer Ethan Farnam held on to capture the 2019 title at Cantigny Golf. The event was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19. \nAny Illinois resident with an official USGA Handicap Index of 7.4 or below was eligible to sign up for one of eight qualifiers conducted throughout the entirety of Illinois.
