Rich Harvest Farms
Located in west suburban Sugar Grove, Rich Harvest Farms is located in west suburban Sugar Grove and will host the LIV Golf Invitational Series September 16-18. Designed by its owner, Jerry Rich, the 18-hole championship golf course is located on an expansive 1,800 acres and measures over 7,700 yards.
When it officially opened in 1999, Rich Harvest Farms was rated the 5th Best New Private Golf Course by Golf Digest. Three years later, Golf Digest placed the course on America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.
LIV Golf Chicago
Rich Harvest Farms will be hosting the LIV Golf Chicago Invitational September 16 – 18, 2022. The eight-event LIV Golf Invitational Series showcases an innovative new golf format that features teams playing for more than $250 million in prize purses.
Some notable players expected in the LIV Golf Chicago field include Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Kevin Na, Martin Kaymer, Charl Schwartzel, Louis Oosthuizen, Patrick Reed, Bryson DeChambeau, and Talor Gooch.
Total prize purse for the eight events will reach an unprecedented $255MM. The first seven regular season events will carry a total purse of $25MM comprised of $20MM in individual prizes (all players in the field earn a share) and $5MM for the top three teams. Following the first seven events, an Individual Champion will be crowned offering a total purse of $30MM for the top three individuals of the season. The season-ending eighth event will be a Team Championship that will provide $50MM in total prize funds.
Northern Illinois University Golf
Rich Harvest Farms is the home golf course of the Northern Illinois University’s Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams. The teams not only use the golf course, but the on-site indoor practice facility, giving them the ability to work on their game year-round. The connection between Rich Harvest Farms and the University is strong as both Jerry and Betty Ann Rich graduated from the school in 1961.
The Kids Golf Foundation of Illinois
Established at Rich Harvest Farms in 1998, The Kids Golf Foundation of Illinois is a junior golf association that offers golf programs and events designed to introduce children to the sport of golf. In addition to teaching kids the fundamentals of golf, the Foundation’s programs and events teach participants life skills and leadership through the sport of golf.
Since the inception of the Foundation, more than 200,000 kids have been exposed to golf and the important life lessons it teaches them. The Kids Golf Foundation of Illinois works with many different organizations such as schools, youth organizations, churches, golf courses, and other groups across the state of Illinois to offer and support junior golf programs. The programs are designed to introduce children typically between the ages of 5 and 17 to the sport of golf.
