Three-time Illinois State Amateur Champion D.A. Points shot a final round 67 on Sunday to win the 2011 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for his first victory on the PGA Tour in 128 starts. Points also shared the team trophy with veteran Chicago funnyman Bill Murray.
Points defeated Hunter Mahan by two strokes and earned $1.134 million for the win. He also earned a spot in the field for the 75th Annual Masters this April.
With the victory, D.A. Points vaults to second on the FedEx Cup points list, trailing another Chicago golf product, Mark Wilson. Wilson has won twice on the PGA Tour so far this season, giving Chicago golf three 2011 PGA Tour victories in six official events.
