Chicago Golf Classics – Timber Trails Country Club

TIMBER-TRAILS-GOLF-COURSEThe 18-hole Timber Trails Country Club in La Grange opened in 1931 and was designed by Robert B. Harris. Measuring 6197 yards from the longest tees with a slope rating of 113, Timber Trails featured rolling terrain and tree lined fairways. Despite the best efforts of local organizers to save Timber Trails, the course was closed and put up for auction in 2004. The Anderson family, which had owned Timber Trails since the mid-1960s, sold the 45-acre site for $45 million to a real estate developer who is building homes on the property.
