Grand Geneva’s Wee Nip Set To Open in Spring 2026

Golfers checking to play either of Grand Geneva Resort‘s fabulous 18-hole courses will be serenaded to a continuous medley of pop and rock songs from the 60’s and 70’s. Played throughout the sound system at the golf shop, the playlist could include the Temptations hit from 1966 — “Get Ready”. And the Grand Geneva Resort is well on the way to ‘get ready’ to open its new 10-hole short course called “Wee Nip”.

Designed by Matt Dusenberry of Dusenberry Design, Wee Nip will feature 10 holes, each averaging around 90 yards. The course is designed to be completed in roughly 90 minutes—perfect for a quick yet engaging round. And for those looking to relax after their game, the course will include a viewing area with food and beverage service, as well as music to enhance the atmosphere.

With a Scottish links-style motif as its design, Wee Nip will feature rolling terrain with bunkers, berms, and native grass, but no trees or water hazards.

Wee Nip will be a stand-alone course with play open to the public, with or without booking a round at either 18-hole course, The Brute or The Highlands. Tee time reservations can be made in advance beginning slightly before Wee Nip’s opening day (Spring 2026, TBD). Walking only, greens fee is yet to be determined.

“Golf continues to gain popularity, especially among younger generations and diverse demographics,” said Ryan Brown, Director of Golf & Ski at Grand Geneva. “The addition of Wee Nip reinforces Grand Geneva’s commitment to enhancing the guest experience and supporting the growth of golf. With a variety of golf clinics, programs for all skill levels, championship courses, and an upcoming new short course, Grand Geneva is one of the best destinations for both seasoned golfers and newcomers to the sport.”

The name “Wee Nip” comes from the Scottish term for a small drink or quick sip, perfectly capturing the playful spirit of the new course. Unlike traditional long courses, Wee Nip is meant to provide a relaxed golfing experience—perfect for a casual round without the pressure of a full-length course. It’s designed for golfers to have fun, enjoy the game, and get creative with their shots.

“Wee Nip encourages casual play, making it ideal for novice golfers and players of all ages,” said Skip Harless, Managing Director of Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. “At the same time, it offers a fun challenge for experienced golfers, letting them try out different strategies and shots.”

Wee Nip’s location at Grand Geneva is the site of the former driving range; the new practice range occupies the area that had been the resort’s air strip.

Kudos to Grand Geneva’s course superintendents Seth Brogan and Kyle Nash and their staff on overseeing the grow-in efforts for Wee Nip to ‘get ready’ for opening day in 2026.
