Bolingbrook Golf Club Named Top 50 Public Facility

Bolingbrook Golf Club was recently recognized as a Top 50 Public Facility by the Golf Range Association of America. The Bolingbrook Golf Club Driving Range & Golf Academy features 70 bent grass hitting stations, 12 target greens, a 10-acre short game area that includes two par-3 holes, lights for nighttime use and professional instruction from several experienced instructors.

Open to the public, the Bolingbrook Golf Club Driving Range & Golf Academy has its own clubhouse and entrance. The practice center is designed to accommodate players of every level.

“We strive to provide a best-in-class experience for golfers and event guests alike, and these awards are a testament to our staff’s commitment to excellence,” said Bolingbrook Golf Club General Manager Doug Friess. “We are honored to be recognized among the top practice facilities and wedding venues in the country with these awards.”

“For nearly 20 years, Bolingbrook Golf Club has served the community through its array of premier amenities, and these awards only reinforce its reputation as a first-class facility,” said Bolingbrook Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta. “Behind these awards is a dedicated team, who I commend for continuously delivering exceptional experiences and going above and beyond for guests day in and day out.”

This marks the seventh time Bolingbrook has been honored with a Golf Range Association of America award. Every year, the GRAA honors the top 50 ranges and practice facilities that cater to the public golfer, the private facilities that serve an exclusive membership, and those that offer a stand-alone experience. Criteria for the top 50 looks at each facility’s amenities and services, technology integration, clinics and workshops, revenue and more.

Located just forty minutes southwest of Chicago, Bolingbrook Golf Club is an Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest designed golf course. The course, stretching to 7104 yards and playing to a par of 72, was once an open field but now challenges golfers with elevated tees, rolling fairways and seven lakes. Other amenities at this championship facility include practice putting green, driving range, learning academy, state-of-the-art GPS-equipped golf carts, and the modern 76,000 square foot clubhouse.

In 2020, Bolingbrook Golf Club achieved designation as a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses. Jeff Gerdes, superintendent at Bolingbrook Golf Club, completed the effort to obtain sanctuary designation on the property — Bolingbrook Golf Club becoming the 49th golf course in Illinois, the 734th nationwide, and the 926th in the world to achieve such status.

Managed by Northbrook-based KemperSports, Bolingbrook Golf Club features a true island green par-3 and 600 yard par-5 that should play with the prevailing wind. Measuring 4,931 yards to 7,104 yards from five sets of tees, Bolingbrook Golf Club proves to be both challenging and fair for players of all abilities and a terrific compliment to any function.
