Cog Hill PGA Jr. Teams Prepare For National Finals

Coach Kevin Weeks will soon be escorting two squads from his Cog Hill PGA Jr. League program to locations for the PGA Jr. League National Championships.

The PGA Jr. League is played in two divisions, 17-under and 13-under. On Sept. 21-22, PGA Jr. League teams from across the country competed in Regional Championships as part of the PGA Jr. League Championship Season, with spots on the line for both the 13u and 17u PGA Jr. League National Championships. Coach Weeks’ Cog Hill Ravines All-Star teams won spots in both divisions and will be headed to the national finals.

The 17u Championship will take place on Oct. 23-26 at Twin Warriors Golf Club in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico. The 13u Championship is set for Fields Ranch West at PGA Frisco in Texas, Nov. 16-20, and will be broadcast live on the ESPN family of networks.

Cog Hill Ravines 17u All-Stars

The Cog Hill Ravines 17u All-Stars of Lemont, Illinois, defeated TPC Wisconsin 17u All-Stars (Madison) 9.5-2.5 to claim the Region 8 title, and punched its return ticket to the 17u PGA Jr. League Championship. The 17u division of the PGA Jr. Golf League is new and has only been contested for three years. Juniors from Cog Hill have been extremely successful at this age bracket and have advanced to the national finals for the third time, with fourth-place finishes in both 2023 and 2024.

In 2025 the 13u squad from Cog Hill became the Lemont program’s ninth National Championship Qualifier team; others being 2016-2019, 2021-2024. In 2024, the Cog Hill All-Star team finished ninth at the 13u National Championship. In a hard-fought close match at this year’s Regional Finals, Cog Hill Ravines 13u All-Stars, as a No. 2 seed, upset the No. 1 seed Northern Lights 13u All-Stars 7-5 to claim the Region 5 13u title.

Twelve eight-player Regional Championship teams will represent their home state in each age division. Rounds one and two are held in a two-person scramble, team aggregate stroke play format; the top four teams advance to the semi-final round, with the winners playing in the Championship Final round. The bottom eight teams will play a 9-hole, two-person scramble event.

Good luck to the sixteen junior Cog Hill golfers in their quest for ‘national championship status’.
