Among the 156 contestants, here are a half-dozen players to watch:

Ben An – currently second on the 2022 Korn Ferry money list. Ben made history when he became the youngest winner of the U.S. Amateur, capturing the 2009 title at age 17, defeating Ben Martin, 7 and 5, in the 36-hole final at Tulsa’s Southern Hills CC (site of last week’s PGA Championship). An has one K-F Tour victory already in 2022 when he won the LECOM Suncoast Classic in February. Ben has plenty of world-wide golf experience as he was a member of Ernie Els’ 2019 International Presidents Cup Team in Australia; Ben represented South Korea in the 2016 & 2018 World Cup, and in the 2016 Olympic Games.

Nicolas Echavarria – is a 27-year old professional golfer from Medellin, Colombia who played his college golf at the University of Arkansas and graduated in 2016 with a degree in International Relations. Echavarria comes from an athletically talented family, as he has two older brothers, Andres and Miguel, both of whom are professional golfers and both played college golf in the United States.
Andres competed at the University of Florida. Miguel played golf for the University of Michigan. Nico’s 2022 Korn-Ferry season is seriously trending upward as Echavarria has made the cut in seven of his last eight events. And as history has shown, Razorback golfers can pull huge upsets — John Daly, the 1991 PGA Championship at the Crooked Stick Golf Club, and the 1995 Open Championship at St Andrews.

Theo Humphrey – the 25-year old is a hungry newcomer to the Korn-Ferry Tour. Humphrey played golf at Vanderbilt University and would like to achieve the same successes as former Commodore grad Brandt Snedeker. Theo was born in Chicago and would enjoy impressing his ‘hometown’ crowd with a high finish at The Glen Club.

Kyle Reifers – is an experienced tour professional with many years on both the PGA Tour and Korn-Ferry Tour. Kyle played golf for four years at Wake Forest University where he concluded his senior year in Winston-Salem with a runner-up finish at the NCAA Championship while his Demon Deacons placed third.
Kyle was named a two-time NCAA All-America and three-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection. He was a college teammate for three years with PGA TOUR member Bill Haas . Kyle was a member of the victorious 2005 U.S. Walker Cup Team at Chicago Golf Club. In 2007 Kyle posted a course-record 64 at the TPC Louisiana in the first round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Trevor Werbylo – is a streaky golfer like many other former Arizona Wildcat alums. Trevor is currently third on the 2022 Korn-Ferry Tour money list and won the Lake Charles Championship in March of this year. If his game is ‘on’ and he puts it all together, he could run away from the field and capture his second title at the NV5 Invitational.

Carl Yuan – is currently the leading money winner on the 2022 Korn-Ferry Tour. Yuan played golf for the University of Washington Huskies.
Carl notched a victory this year winning the Chitimacha Louisiana Open presented by MISTRAS, which he won in a playoff over Peter Uihlein. Yuan leads the Korn-Ferry Tour this season in Greens in Regulation Percentage with 300 Greens Hit out of 396 Holes Played. Carl represented his home country, China, in the 2020 Olympics.
