Chicago Golf Show – The Complete History

The Chicago Golf Show takes place February 23-25, 2024 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. It’s your one-stop destination to find great deals on golf equipment, get free putting and full-swing lessons from PGA Pros, learn about exciting golf getaways and challenging courses, and to get a free round of golf.

The Chicago Golf Show historically serves as the first indication that winter can’t last forever and spring is near. It’s the combination of this eternal boost of optimism plus a chance to see what’s new in golf that has attracted thousands of hopeful golfers to the Chicago Golf Show since 1984.

In 2021 and 2022, Chicago-area golfers missed out on the Chicago Golf Show, which was unfortunately cancelled due to supply chain and issues related to the pandemic. The entire Chicago golf community looks forward to revisiting one of the great traditions in Chicago golf.

However, some veteran fans of Chicago golf may remember an earlier version of The Chicago Golf Show, which ran from 1962 until 1971. The first few Chicago Golf Shows from this era were presented by the Illinois section of the PGA and took place at the Chicago Hilton Hotel Exposition Hall, McCormick Place and Arlington Park before finishing at the newly rebuilt McCormick Place in 1971.

The current Chicago Golf Show was first hosted at the Hamilton Hotel Itasca, then the Arlington Park Hilton followed by Harper College in Palatine before moving to its current location at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.

Here are some highlights from The Chicago Show(s), beginning in 1962:
